Vice President of Business Development

Overview
Dodd Creative Group is seeking a strategic and relationship-driven leader to serve as Vice President of Business Development.This senior role is responsible for driving growth across our branding, signage, and environmental design services—expanding client partnerships while ensuring alignment between sales, design, production, and installation. The ideal candidate will develop a deep understanding of Dodd’s full process—from brand strategy through execution—to sell work that is both visionary and buildable.
responsibilities
• Drive overall business development strategy to achieve revenue and market expansion goals    
• Partner with ownership and executive leadership on long-term planning, financial performance, and scalability    
• Identify and pursue new markets, verticals, and service opportunities    
• Help shape the direction and positioning of Dodd Creative Group     
• Lead a consultative sales approach across complex, multi-phase branding and signage projects    
• Navigate long sales cycles involving developers,ownership groups, and operators   
• Translate client vision into actionable scopes across branding, signage, and environmental design   
• Own and grow the full business development pipeline from strategy through close           
• Ensure accurate forecasting, pipeline visibility, and consistent revenue growth  
• Accountable for revenue targets and overall pipeline performance
• Build and expand relationships with key clients and strategic partners
• Serve as senior relationship lead for high-value and growth-focused accounts
• Identify and execute opportunities to grow existing client partnerships
• Oversee major proposals, presentations, and contract negotiations
• Develop and refine pricing strategies to drive profitability and competitiveness
• Oversee large-scale contracts and revenue-driving opportunities
• Travel to project sites and client locations to build relationships and understand real-world execution
• Develop working knowledge of Dodd’s processes across design, production, and installation
• Partner with account management to ensure client retention and satisfaction
• Work closely with the COO to align sales efforts with operational capacity
• Ensure seamless transition from sales through design, production, and installation
• Collaborate with department leaders on priorities, resources, and execution
• Participate in leadership planning and priority-setting
• Represent Dodd Creative Group as an industry leader
• Expand presence within key verticals, including multifamily, mixed-use, and build-to-rent
• Develop relationships with developers, ownership groups, and operators in the multifamily and real estate sectors
• Build a strong network of clients, partners, and industry influencers
• Represent Dodd Creative Group at industry conferences and events
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Proven experience in business development and client leadership, preferably within complex or multi-disciplinary projects
  • Strong strategic thinking and business acumen with clear ownership of revenue performance
  • Strong appreciation for branding, design, and the built environment
  • Ability to engage credibly with creative, production, and operations teams
  • Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills
  • Confidence in negotiations and high-level decision-making
  • Collaborative leadership style with the ability to drive accountability and results
  • Big-picture thinker who can operate in the details when needed
  • Relationship-driven with a strong focus on outcomes

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Word, etc.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience in the multifamily and real estate industry
  • Experience within branding, signage, environmental design, or creative agencies
  • Experience managing high-value client relationships from pursuit through execution
  • Demonstrated ability to sell complex, multi-disciplinary projects
  • Ability to balance client vision with operational and financial realities
  • Genuine interest in the intersection of creative, branding, and the built environment
  • Curiosity and interest in implementing systems and technologies to elevate team performance
