Art Director

Overview
Dodd Creative Group is looking for an experienced and versatile Art Director to bring high-level visual execution and design excellence to our fast-paced studio. This role will focus on developing original logo designs, signage and wayfinding concepts, and environmental graphics.They’ll work closely with our Creative Directors to deliver strategic, beautiful, and brand-forward creative solutions for multifamily properties.
As Art Director, you will be a hands-on designer who will also be responsible for mentoring and directing junior team members on print and digital projects. You’ll lead by example by modeling strong design execution, sharing knowledge with the team, and helping bring Creative Directors’ feedback to life.
responsibilities
DESIGN EXECUTION

•Translate creative briefs into design deliverables that meet strategic objectives
• Provide high-quality design work across logo, signage, environmental, print, and digital  

LOGO DESIGN AND VISUAL IDENTITIES
• Collaborate with Creative Directors to develop custom logo and stationery concepts for multifamily brands    
• Create logo packs, usage guides, define fonts and color palettes    
• Create visually stunning brand guides    
• Prepare brand presentations as needed
     
SIGNAGE AND ENVIRONMENTAL DESIGN      
• Design signage concepts including monument, wayfinding, and building signage    
• Design environmental graphics that include murals, window vinyl, banners, locker wraps, development signs, billboards, etc.    
• Understand fabrication and dimensional constraints (materials, visibility, city code compliance, etc.)    
• Create polished presentations mockups and communicate ideas clearly for production team      

PRINT AND DIGITAL DESIGN      
• Design and/or provide art direction on print and digital projects, including collateral packages, websites, social, and brand videos  
• Proofreading junior team designers’ work
• Partner with production teams to ensure accuracy when creating production-ready files for environmental graphics and print collateral

TEAM COLLABORATION AND MENTORSHIP   
• Mentor junior designers offering best-practices and software tips and tricks  
• Contributes to team learning by sharing expertise through company-wide presentations  
• Help interpret and implement feedback from Creative Directors across projects  
• Stay current with design in branding, signage, and the multifamily space  
• Stays current on emerging creative technologies, including AI-assisted design tools, and explores ways to integrate them into the creative process
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • 5–7 years of experience in graphic design or art direction, preferably in agency or branding environment
  • Strong portfolio with an emphasis on logo design and branding
  • Mastery of Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop) on Mac
  • Working knowledge of web design programs (Figma, Webflow, etc.)
  • Ability to scope own design work accurately and meet deadlines consistently
  • Familiar with managing multiple concurrent design projects in a fast-paced setting
  • Solid understanding of typography, layout, and color theory
  • Skilled at preparing clean, accurate, print-ready production files
  • Ability to communicate ideas through sketches and thumbnails
  • Organized, efficient, and deadline-driven with strong attention to detail
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent proofreading skills
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Comfortable writing or refining copy for brand identities, taglines, signage, and presentations
  • Capable of managing up(communicating challenges, solutions, timelines to leadership)
  • Comfortable giving design rationale and defending creative decisions when appropriate

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Signage and/or environmental design experience
  • Comfortable working with architectural drawings and elevations
  • Experience with signage fabrication, dimensional lettering, and lighting specs
  • Prior experience with real estate, multifamily housing, or commercial developments
  • Experience with video editing and motion design (After Effects, Premier Pro)

Signage Production Designer

JOB DESCRIPTION
We are looking for candidates with experience in interior and exterior building signage design. We need someone familiar with all signage types (wall signs, blade signs, monuments, etc), with a thorough understanding of materials(aluminum, vinyl, acrylic, stone, interior/exterior lighting, etc) and construction methods (channel letters, cabinets, etc). You will be responsible for designing signage packages and proofing packages. Ideal candidates are team players, have a great attitude, and have great attention to detail. This is a full-time, in-office position at our office in Dallas, TX (This is not a remote position).
RESPONSIBILITIES
Stay organized and manage multiple projects simultaneously while adhering to deadlines.Design and spec comprehensive interior and exterior signage packages.

Use Adobe Creative Cloud tools to create vector drawings, digital imaging, and renderings.Create basic 3D renderings to assist in client presentations.

Develop designs for various signage types, including wall signs, blade signs, monument signs, and more.

Select appropriate materials (e.g., aluminum, vinyl, acrylic) and ensurecompatibility with design specifications.

Spec signs out for the appropriate fabrication method for different signcomponents including channel letters, flush-mount letters, push through letters, cabinet construction, etc.

Proof and review signage packages for accuracy and production readiness.

Collaborate with team members to refine designs and meet project requirements.

Prepare and deliver high-quality, production-ready files.

Conduct quality control checks to ensure designs are on-brand and align with our best practices and standards and meet code requirements.

Communicate effectively with team members to meet project objectives.
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a professional graphic designer
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in signage design - MUST have previous signage experience
  • Knowledge of and experience with production materials (ie vinyls, acrylics, paints, etc)
  • Proficient in Adobe CreativeCloud, including Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop
  • Skilled in vector drawing and rendering (Adobe Illustrator)
  • Skilled in digital imaging and composition (Adobe Photoshop)
  • Experienced in Microsoft Office, specifically Microsoft Excel.
  • Basic 3D rendering abilities for presentation.
  • Ability to produce accurate deliverable files
  • Organized and detail oriented
  • Proofreading experience
  • Great collaborator and team player
  • Good at following direction
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints

Project Manager

Overview
Dodd Creative Group is currently seeking a professional multitasker to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have at least 2years professional experience at a design firm or sign agency. He/she will be a great communicator who is detail-oriented, energetic, flexible, and passionate about organization. This is a full-time, in-office position at our office inDallas, TX (This is not a remote position).
RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage and follow every project through its lifecycle and know where every job is.

Support the designers and account team as a primary vendor contact for signage projects.

Work with the designers, account team and vendors to keep signage design projects on time and error-free.

Work with vendors on establishing budgets and timelines.

Tracking the process of getting signs through engineering, permitting, manufacturing and installation.

Writing purchase orders, tracking costs and processing invoices.

Keep the team’s digital and physical job folders well-organized.

Proof-read documents and review layouts.

Work with install team on scheduling logistics and planning installs.

Organizing and planning crating and shipping of signs.

Generate status reports and keep our project management system and status lists up-to date.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 2 years experience working at a design firm or sign agency
